Energy

Nigel Farage doesn't hold back in his GB News prime-time show. Hear his views and give your own in an action-packed hour of discussion and debate. Join Nigel as he takes on the big stories other media don't want to touch. He also inteviews Bjorn Lomborg about climate change and net zero.

Danish political scientist Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, president of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, is one of the world's most original thinkers on these issues.

"Energy is prosperity," he stressed.

Affordable, available energy has led to humanity's flourishing over the past two decades. Prosperity means you get less sick, you live longer, there is less child mortality, education is better, and you have more personal opportunities.

In his ARC 2026 keynote, Bjorn Lomborg presented a data-driven view of how exaggerated fears around climate change have led us to make decisions that are bad for our quality of life and for our economies. He urges a return to an emphasis on energy abundance and affordability, in order to drive the growth and innovation that will ultimately allow us to tackle climate change through new technologies.

Bjorn Lomborg highlights the stark difference in AC usage between Europe (20%) and the US (88%).

Dana Perino and Bjorn Lomborg discuss Europe's deadly heatwave, where only 20% of households have air conditioning compared to 88% in the U.S. Lomborg, president of the Copenhagen Consensus, states that Europe's climate policies, by making electricity unaffordable, contribute to thousands of heat-related deaths each year. He emphasizes that this is an unnecessary cost driven by virtue signaling rather than practical solutions.

The winds of change are howling across Europe, and they’re not powered by turbines. In recent months, the once-unshakable European consensus in favor of aggressive net-zero climate policies has fractured under the weight of skyrocketing energy costs and economic reality. With the war in Iran driving up oil and natural gas prices, the pressure on Europe is now even higher.

“China’s Green Triumph,” utbasunerte The New York Times.

Just a few years ago, European economies were united in pushing for green energy at any cost—what changed?

Muchos en Occidente observan con asombro el aparente dominio de China en el ámbito de las energías renovables. “China se está convirtiendo en una superpotencia verde”, titulaba la BBC el mes pasado. “El triunfo verde de China”, proclamaba The New York Times.
